IAT/SIA Maine Chapter Board Members Contribute Skills to Trail Improvement

Suzanne Goulet, master trail sign maker has produced two more great signs for the north and south end of our new 30 miles of trail East-of-Baxter. Suzanne has made several of the signs along the trail and also makes signs for the AT in Maine. She is a long time member of the IAT/SIA Maine Chapter Board and a member of ALDHA and a regular attendee at the GATHERING. She is an accomplished long distance hiker, having thru-hiked the Appalachian Trail and the IAT/SIA and completed thru-hikes of many other long distance trails. She teaches at Waterville Senior High School. This summer  Suzanne will be hiking in the mountains of western United States. The accompanying pictures are of Suzanne in the mountains of our west and sign installers Tom Brennan and Bill Duffy in the rain near Katahdin Lake, just outside the Baxter Park Boundary.

Bob Johnson, Newly elected as an IAT/SIA Maine Chapter Board member put his carpentry skills to good use and constructed an exceptionally rugged picnic table which was recently added to the Wassataquoik Campsite. This table is a  welcome addition to this great campsite and will be enjoyed by users for many years. The table was delivered to the site in several pieces and the picture shows Bob standing behind the completed table.
